My computer is so messed up... I really need someone to shed some hope..

Basically the problem with it is right now -

1. It loads up XP loading screen, goes to login, i login with my admin account and then it says "loggin it" - 2 seconds later it says "logging off". So it basically gets no where, just logs in and logs off straight away. And i've tried this will all my accounts.

2. I cannot access safe mode, it only understands F2 and F12 and they are only good for BIOS and Boot options.

3. My CD drives do not boot from start up... thus i cannot install XP Disc on it to rebuild everything.

I've tried in bios to make it boot from disc... but it will not do it for some reason :S

Is there any other way i can install XP and overite everything to save my computer. Or is there absolutly nothing i can do now to fix it myself?

My computer is DELL.

There seems to be lots of problems.

First, I don't understand why Safe Mode won't work.

For a Dell, it is F8. As soon as you turn the PC on tap the F8 key continuously.

If this doesn't work, try another keyboard. That may help. If you can get it to go into safe mode then try just logging in with the username 'Administrator' and no password. If that doesn't work try your normal account.

You are still probably going to need to reinstall Windows though. Can you explain a bit more about not being able to boot from CD. Is the first boot option definitely the CD drive? Was that drive working before?

Hopefully I will be able to help you sort this out.
