I know that someone has already posted about this but i really am to agrivated to look...Can someone please tell me if its possible to downgrade from Vista back to XP, i looked everywhere when i was looking for a new computer and i couldnt find one that had XP on it, they all use Vista now, So here i am with a brand new computer which i was forced to get...Anywho i really want to say i have never ever ever wanted to throw my computer out the window so bad, all vista does is crash games and all the XP games i own(all of my games are XP) dont work with Multi player or vista finds some other way to make me angry telling me that THis program stopped working, The only thing i like about vista is the theme and the pre installed games on it....I just really want to go back to XP...can someone help me? It also came to mind that games in the future will probably run on Vista mostly and that Microsoft Office 2007 runs best on Vista, Dont get me wrong vista is cool, but Untill i can afford a 4,000$ computer i am not usin vista again, im runnin basic right now cause thats all i could afford atm....this computer was only 550$ for school and i also got it for a couple games...Help?!

vista usually has its own drivers so you will have to find the xp drivers before you downgrade to avoid any future problems.

downgrading should be a simple process of booting vista and inserting the windows xp disk and going through the installation. if you don't have an xp disk already you will have to buy one im afraid.
however i would advise a fresh install of xp to avoid any problems later.

hope that helped!

Yes, quite a lot of people are doing so until vista is in shape.

vista works great for me, it was just a case of ironing out the problems, alot of crashes were fixed by running everything as admin lol

Technically, you would be breaking the EULA installing the Dell copy on the Acer because you can only use each copy once unless you have more than one COA.

If you don't use the Dell anymore then yes (but you will have to get all the drivers)

I suppose you can downgrade to xp although it dosent have any good themes, icons, utilities, games and the side bar.

However there is the vista transformation pack which can be downloaded to put onto windows XP. It will give you all the themes and the other stuff etc of vista but dosent change the actual operating system.

Do this at your own expence, it is free but it may damage your system. you can download it from www.pcworld.com
