I have some very annoying issues with vista going on...

1. i cannot download updates...everytime they fail...here are some screenshots...the 2nd is of the updates that try to install everytime i turn my PC on and they fail everytime...

2. I realized about 2 weeks ago that when i open IE i cannot type into any text boxes within any of the pages i bring up and at the bottom left it says error on page....when i click on it it says error: 153 unspecified reason.

3. Firefox will not remember any of my user names and passwords...therefore everytime i visit a site or forum i have to sign in again...this has been going on for about 3 months...it was fine before then.

4. I still have vista ultimate SP1....i have seen SP2 sometimes in my updates list, but it has fail to install as well....not sure what to do

Please fill me in on what to do for each of these issues as it is very annoying and getting worse....thanks a lot for the help in advance..

Try getting the SP2 standalone installer from the MS website and not using Windows Update

Try a system restore to a point before Windows update began to fail. I had this problem, windows update itself had an update and it went wrong..

No, it will adjust the system files to the date you set.

Always a great idea to have a backup of all your data though!

Try adjusting the 'Time and Date' settings to the correct time and date.

There's a little calendar if I remember and you click one of the bold dates. All other dates have no restore points.

At the title where it says "October 2009" you can click an arrow to go to previous months, get one from before the problem started.
