Hi guys , I switched my Laptop on and found that it switched on ok, it then went to my username and after putting my password, instead of it going to desktop which it supposed to, the screen went blank ( black in colour) and the mouse arrow there which I was able to move around.

The laptop was sounding perfect but I could not see the desktop for some reason. I tried to go on safe mode as thanks to you all I have learnt so much on this website. The same thing happen. I am pretty sure the screen is ok

So I reinstalled windows as I thought it must have crashed but lost all my important data. It came up perfect and all was ok, and Guess what the same thing happen 2 days later. It was a good thing that I got an operating boot cd with my laptop, so I had to do all of it again.

I am posting this post, so I don’t know how long this laptop will last. Any help please. Tony

Could be a dodgy hard drive/file table corrupting files. Did you repartition it and do a FULL format when you re-installed.
