hi everybody,
I have a question on how to install windows XP SP2 on 50 computers using windows deployment server. Actions done so far - WDS has been installed and configured on SCCM 2007 - On a reference computer i installed win XP SP2 with all the needed applications. -I added the winPE.wim from win AIK installation folder and Boot.wim from windows Vista DVD to the boot image section of windows deployment server - On a reference computer - i inserted win xp sp2 & ran setupmgr.exe and "an answer file has been created" pop up message was displayed. - Then i ran sysprep.exe, clicked the "factory" button after few minutes the pc shuts down. Then i powered it on and clicked "reseal" button. Then again it shuts down. I powered it on again but before that i configured my pc to boot from on board network controller. When the reference pc started it attempts to find a DHCP server and after a few minutes it display "PXE error E53: No boot file name received". So, now what could possiblely go wrong? What are the possible things that could cause the reference computer not be able to connect to the windows deployment server? Please help me out! |

Hi there rocket,
Are you still experiencing this problem? Your last seen date seems a long time ago and I don't want to waste time trying to help if you will never see this.
