Installing vist to a second partition

I want to install vista to a second partition (letterJ) so as I can mess around with it and try it out a bit but it just seems to want to install to by C drive where I dont want it. Any help would be appreciated please

Unplug the other drives while installing Vista?

Its a lap top m8. (should of said I guess sorry)
So its all the same drive but with a partition is all.
