hi guys

im trying to install windows XP on my asus eee 901 20gb ssd 1gb ram 900mhz everytime i try to install xp i get to the stage were youve just booted the cd in bios and it starts to load files across and everytime it says at the bottom of the screen setup is starting windows all the time it shows the blue screen saying:

check for viruses on computer, remove any newly installed hard drives, check your hard drive if its properly configured

????

check that hardDrive is set to second boot device and the cd drive is first boot device

ive downloaded the latest version now how do you use gparted

ive tried gparted, active kill disk and all dont want to run, but i dont have to use them really all i have to do is just pop in the cd in an ext drive boot up the cd and windows should install just like that but it doesnt it shows up the blue screen

ummm i had this problem years ago on my old socket a.. freezing on blue screen i reset the bios setting buy jumpers on the motherboard and that fixed my problem . are you able to get another copy of xp disk as the one you are using might be scratched hence the freeze ? you sound liek you have installed os many times so it cant be any falt on your side

im installing it on a asus eee and the thing is i can install win 2000 but everytime i try installing xp i get blue screen
