That's silly because I have a 120 GB sata Fujitsu MHW2120BH Hard Drive installed.

I did a'lot of looking around on google and found out that you need HDD drivers to install XP on a sata interface.
So I went to Fujitsu's web site but couldn't find any.

Is there any alternative to this dilema? Or is there anywhere else I can find the HDD driver?

TIA

You get SATA drivers from your motherboard manufacture/model not hard drive.

Oh Really? I guess that makes sense

How do I know what mobo I have? It's a laptop so do I have to take it apart and see?

Thanks

If it's a laptop then you get them from the laptop maker.

I feel I made a mistake getting this laptop.

I bought it off newegg for $670. The specs:
C2D 1.5 GHZ
2 GB DDR2 667 Ram
120 GB Hard Drive
Vista Home Prem
1.3 MP Webcam
15.4 WGXA
DVDRW/CDRW

I bought in b/c it was infact a good deal for those specs. But it being a NO-Name brand should have been enough to turn me away from it

Since I bought it newegg has discontinued it. And I can't find it on the internet either.
I'm not sure what to do right now

Install Everest(from the downloads section).
It will hopefully give you the info you need, sometimes even provides links to drivers for your hardware.

Ok I got XP installed I went into the bios and disabled AHCI Mode which does handicap the hard drive a little by making the computer think it's an ATA hard drive instead of a SATA hard drive. But now that XP is installed I might be able to download and install the SATA drivers and then enable AHCI Mode.

BTW XP runs so much better than vista did

Thanks for all ye help
