I've got a really weird & frustrating problem with my PC.
Im using winxp SP2. Actually i just got a new internet connection, I installed the 'COMODO Firewall Pro' , & soon after i finished installing the firewall showed a message saying a file named 'svchost.exe' i trying to establish an internet connection , I blocked & terminated the process with the help of the same firewall & soon after that the computer was shutting down unusually. And now when i login to my administrator account ; all i see is the desktop with NO TASKBAR , all the desktop icons are frozen, i mean they cannot be moved or copied in fact the 'paste' option is not active at all , THE INTERNET CONNECTON is lost , the system speed has reduced drastically . Now Im using the PC in the safe mode & its working fine in this mode but how can i revert back to normal mode. What could be possible reason & solution? Is it only because of that stubborn file (svchost.exe) or something else . Kindly help me out with this. |

svchost.exe is legit and perfectly safe.

Have you got any backups you can revert back to? Other than that you could try uninstalling Comodo, and then installing it again (hopefully this would unblock svchost) and allow it this time, it might be completely unrelated, but it is possible that with no access web-side, it's screwing up the appearance.
