Hi
Lately my laptop turns off after i turn it back on after hibernation. It doesn't always happen but sometimes. And just now when i turned it on after hibernation i could hear it on but the screen was just black to i had to restart it. Ive done all the spyware and virus scan etc. It is running windows vista home premium 32bit SP1. ??

Hibernation has never been all that reliable. My advice would be to turn it off and either have your laptop turned on or off. :)

It might be that you change your settings.

Go to Control Panel>Power Options and select Change Power Settings (It does not matter if you choose it from Balanced, Power Saver or Performance. It's all the same.) In next screen click on "Change advanced power settings". It'll open a new window.

From there, you can change the options:
  • Power button and lid
  • Sleep
You can change the settings to either Sleep, Hibernate or Shut Down, or even nothing for the hardware power button.
