Default Lost Windows XP of Compaq SR1711NX
Hey Everyone

I bought a Compaq Presario SR1711NX in 2005 I used it a'lot for 2 years and finally the HDD gave in and died I had created the backup recovery DVD's but guess what happend to them The case I put the DVD's in was gooy inside and I didn't know it until I took out the dvd's and saw that they had gotten goooood

So I ripped that dang DVD case to pieces and burnt it with a ciggyrat lighter
And I shot the dvd's with a shotgun---LOL I'm kidding.
I just through them away.

Anyway, the computer still has it's COA sticker on it, is there any place that I can download the recovery CD's?

If the HDD died you won't be able to 1. restore it or 2. use a recovery CD on another HDD as the CD does not contain Windows.

You will need to call Microsoft to get a CD (unlikely to work) or buy another HDD and a copy of Windows.
