Default missing files in Vista

Hi,
I now have a Vista PC which is great, however,I have an external Hard drive plugged in to it, as well as the internal hard drive.
On these I have a folder called My Favourites which is a collection of websites I have looked at over the years, everything seems fine, its just that I had a folder in there called music websites, but it has now dissapeared from both hard drives.I know for a fact I have not deleted them. Is this a common thing in Vista for them to suddenly dissapear,as I certainly do not want to lose any files, also is there a way of retrieving them back.
Any help would be great.
Thanks.
Vinnie.

the only reason i can think of for the hard drive getting wiped is if you unplugged it while it was writing to it
i dont like the sound of self deleting files

You can try taking a look in the Recycle Bin. They may just be in there.

Otherwise have a look at Previous Versions (Only for Business, Enterprise and Ultimate)

http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...f40121033.mspx

I also suggest you try searching from the Search Bar in the Start Menu in Vista for keywords that you remember. That may discover them.

Vista should not have just deleted them.
