My Computer Will Not Start Up?

Turned my computer on this morning and it will not load up windows vista. It starts to load up then comes up with this.

An error occured while attempting to read the boot configurations data.

can u get into bios?? dnt knw what it would be for your computer but just button bash either f8 or delete and that should get u into a list of options
then run it in safe mode
reformat your computer and reinstall windows
dont know if that helps

Boot off your Vista CD and do a repair or roll back.

I put the cd in and tryed to do a restore but it tells me it can't do it.

Do you have any files on the computer that you can't recreate easily if you can't get back to those disk contents?

I have two areas with two differnt ipods on will I lose all my purchased items if I can't get back in. Also have loads of photo's on there, I have an external hard drive that I do backups on but not done one in awhile.

Took my computer down to my little village computer shop. He managed to fix it. Windows vista was corrupt there was an error in the BIOS. Also the power supply was failing. He reinstalled windows updated the BIOS and replaced the power supply all for only £50.

That's cheap, you got a good deal.

Taking a backup of your ipods and photos would be a good move.

also for all the people who have windows problems and want to backup there files download the knoppix (linux) live cd this will let you boot fromt he cd and load the whole os into ram without installing to the hard drive and you can then backup all your files to an external drive before trying to fix windows
