every time I open an exe file, the windows installer launches and tries to configure SCAN with the dialog "the feature you are trying to use is on a CD ROM or other removable Disc that is not available. Insert the SCAN disc. Use source 1. I tried inserting my HP scanner install disc for the scan.msi file it was looking for but was rejected. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all my HP hardware but this persistent and annoying pop up still plagues my system upon every launch. It is akin to playing whack-a-mole, having to cancel the install each time it launches.

Unable to install the cleanup utility "Extracting file failed. It is most likely caused by low memory (low disk space for swapping file) or corrupted Cabinet file."
I have ample disc and ram space. Which Cab file? |

It sounds like there may be other things going on with your PC ..... have you carried out Virus & Malware scans recently ? ..... if not, you may want to head over to the Virus Spyware & Security Forum and post some details .... be sure to read the 1st sticky before you post.
