The one I linked to is OEM, so you don't get a manual or telephone support. Neither I personally have had any use for.

UPDATE
Fresh Windows install went OK and Windows Update detects that NVDIA card needs driver so downloads and installs it BUT ... ... to configure the card/driver the PC has to restart in normal mode and then the blue screen comes in. PC will restart normally if the driver ISN'T downloaded but will just default to standard Windows graphics. Secondary error of vertical mozaic bars remain on screen in all modes , so I suspect that even if blue screen could be fixed , they would remain. Tried various suggestions posted on other sites regarding removing old copies of drivers manually but nothing has worked. Have ordered new PC ( graphics card is AMD not Nvdia !!) and will open up back of faulty one and learn a bit about fixing stuff by trial and error - goal is to build one myself ... should be fun !! My screen problem highlights a weakness of PC's like the Sony VAIO desktop with it's built in monitor - if monitor was seperate like my most PC setups could have easily tested it with a different monitor. |
