| windows has corrupted on my laptop and i need to reinstall it, that would be simple except the usb ports have literally fallen out and theres no cd drive so i have come up with 2 options: boot the windows cd over a network or get a pcmcia usb card. the things i want to know are if a pcmcia usb card will be bootable or will it require drivers and also how do i actually install windows over a network? btw i read that windows server 2003 is required to create a server to boot from so im downloading that at the moment. also if it helps my laptop is a hp compaq nc4010. |

| USB won't work until after the BIOS has loaded and the OS kicked in. You can't do it over the network unless it's just an update, same for USB. Use an external DVD drive. |
