i got a virus on my laptop and it changed my background and disabled me from changing it i went to do a system restore but they were all gone . the laptop crashed so i restarted it now it boots into log in but i log on n it stops after that on a blue screen. i didnt create my recovery disc for my laptop so i need to repair windows xp so i can boot it up and create it. how can i repair the windows files so i can get it to boot up

that not helpfull as i cant get into xp it goes to log on screen then i click log on and it just shows a blue screen with my mouse on it

Have you tried starting in safe mode? Pressing F8 repeatedly at start up
And cant you just put your XP CD in and repair when booting?

safemode doesnt work either it boots into it then stops at black screen with safe mode. i just need to get it to fully load up xp so i can save my important stuff and creat the samsung recovery cds

You could if you have an external, install an OS on that, then run it from that and save all your stuff

the thing is i need to run the samsung recovery disc creator . i have my hd partitioned if i install xp into the second partition will i be able to run the samsung recovery disc creator from the original windows xp

right i have got xp running on the other partition but how do u make the recovry program work in the new copy of xp
