Hey everyone
I'd like to know if anyone could help with a problem that i have with my laptop. When i open it, it says that windows didnt start normally and to choose one of the options. They are
Safe mode
Safe mode with networking
Safe mode with comand prompt
Last known configuration
Start windows normally
When i choose one of these, windows starts to boot but at one point, the screen turns black and windows doest open (in the safe mode case, the commands appear on the screen but at one point no progress in the booting is made). Id like to know what i could do to resolve this problem. And also, i have a 4 cd system restore that came with my old emachines computer that i would use to reinstal the system as new, could i use it on this laptop if it too was running on windows xp?
Thanks a lot for anywone who can help!! :D

You cant use the recovery CDs from your old PC to reinstall XP on the laptop.
I have never tried but the likelihood of it working is probably about zero.

If you cannot get the laptop to boot even in safe mode then you are in trouble, sorry.
If you have connected anything new to the laptop remove it and try to boot in safe mode again.
