Default Network drive and 'sticky' autorun.inf problems.

Hi

Just built a new computer and running vista 64 ultimate.

To facilitate gathering files and settings on my old computer, I installed the files for running Vista 'Easy Transfer' on the root menu of my network drive - including the autorun.inf file. I then ran it on my old computer running Windows XP. No problems.

However, when I mapped the network disk to my new computer so that I could access the files on it, it immediately picked up autorun.inf file and tried to run Easy Transfer, which I cancelled.

I then moved the offending files to another folder on the drive so that the autorun.inf was no longer on on the root.

However, whenever I double click the icon for network drive in 'Computer' in the 'Stat' menu, rather than exploring it, it comes up with 'application not found' and the first entry when right clicking the icon is 'Run Windows Easy Transfer'. It appears that Vista has decided that the network disk should contain the autorun.inf file and it is bu**ered if it is going to change its mind.

I've disconnected and remapped the drive several times, with reboots in between, but every time I remap the drive and double click the icon in 'computer' the same 'Application not found' error comes up and the first entry on rhight click is still 'is still 'Run Windows Easy Transfer''.

While it is easy enough to right click and choose explore, I'd dearly love to know how to convince Vista that the network disk's primary function is not to run Windows Easy Transfer.

Any ideas?
