XP is neither reliable nor fast in 2009. 64-bit XP is required to address 4GB of RAM, and is a terrible operating system for both those cases. Even in the 32-bit arena, its driver system is outdated compared to Vista/7's, it's more insecure (meaning most systems don't end up very fast nor reliable), its interface is poor compared to Vista and 7, it's slower due to lack of SuperFetch, the list goes on.
Vista at release was bad. Vista SP1 fixed that. Stop spreading FUD.
