Default New PC-No OS and Installation Problem... Please Help!

Hi All,

I purchased a blank machine, all parts fitted, no OS or drivers installed but do have the Driver Disks. Know I must of done something and its probably an easy fix.

I can`t remember what I did, Since I am a Disabled women and this machine is machine number 2 and for the bedroom and storage of files mainly but I need it to be used as my main machine till the new one arrives from Insurance Firm.
OK I get this message everytime I switch the PC on: "Error loading Operating System" I can`t do anything but go into the main computers ....Is it BIOS or the screen that tells you fan temp an move through the index with arrow keys like a setup.

What I want to know is can I start again and remove the mistake I must of made or done so I can then install Windows 7 on it, I bought it especially. I thought might of fixed the problem. but it just keeps coming up with the black screen and that message.

Can someone help this female that almost has no hair left *sigh* and would like to keep in touch with the outside world...

Thank you
Angelstorm <--- still has a few strands of hair left...

Sounds like you know more than you think, most people wouldn't know a BIOS from their nose :)

If I'm reading your post right, inserting the Windows 7 disc doesn't do anything? What you'll want to do is look around in that BIOS. You should be able to find a section where it lists all the hard drives and optical drives in your system, this is the priority list and if the hard drive or drives are the #1 priority, the system will never try to boot off the disc. You can usually hit ENTER and change these around - you'll want to move the drive the disc is in to the top slot and the hard drive to the slot the drive was in previously (below it).

Once you do that, the system should boot off the disc, or at least tell you you need to hit a key to boot from CD. Do that and you should be good to go.
