Windows will not get the updates through the security center or direct from the site. It keeps coming back with error number: 0x80072EFF. It won't let me get past the homepage or do anything else. When I look for info on that error I can't find it or am missing it.

However, once I get those updates I do not want SP3 or IE 8 as they caused the problems in the first place.

A Google says this is a server error their end, and to wait for it to be fixed.
