I just got a file\i386\b error code 14 when I tried to boot from CDrom

It says setup cannot continue press any key to exit

I unplugged the pc again. This with the XP disc in it went to Windows Setup automatically. Now it says its loading files.

It says loading files....does that mean it is going to offer me a repair when it's done? I really do not want to reformat...I must save my old files.

I just got a blue screen that says

A problem has been detected etc.

The problem seems to be caused by the following file ACPI.sys

it is a STOP 0x00000050

At the bottom is says *** ACPI.sys mAddress F9E767E7 base at F9E5D000 Datestamp 41107D27

Ok, this is a hardware fault then, in particular your RAM, although cannot be sure.

I just opened the pc and cleaned off a bunch of dust on my RAM stick. The PC fired up but now is checking my file system fat32

I remember it used to do this everytime I fired it up before it kept getting all those blue screens and eventually died.
