Which operating system is better, Mac OS X, It really depends on your needs and wants. Each has it's strengths and each is better in it's own way. So, in my opinion:Mac OS X Pros: The best interface, design, and integration between programs. Fun to use. Secure. Best looking computers. Best rated customer satisfaction. Regular OS overhauls and updates. A very bright future. Cons: More expensive, some niche programs not compatible. Windows XPPros: The most common OS and therefore the self-proclaimed industry "standard", meaning a lot of niche programs and support. It is what most businesses use, so it might be what you're used to at work. The most programs--though not necessarily the best programs.Cons: Security constantly compromised. Getting old. Boring. LinuxPros: Many versions for your needs. It's free. It's open source. Gaining momentum--so more and more programs are available. Cons: Generally more complicated to use and maintain. Many programs not available. So there is my biased opinion. I admit, I've only had limited use of Linux, but I am a long time Windows user and more recently I switched to Mac OS which is my favorite of the three.P.S. bzellinger, have you ever really had a chance to use Mac OS X? I give credit to Windows for what it is. But if this is really a comparison then you have to have used them and at least give some reasons. Dang...this is turning into a forum! |
