In febuary of last year i spent a hefty £1100 on my laptop and it had worked find up till April this year where characters had begun to appear on the screen and strange lines. this problem got worse and worse and eventually i gave up and put it away thinking i would get it sorted later. recently i have thought it to be a driver problem and have set about trying to update my driver for my GeForce Nvidia 8600 GS card but no luck i even tried uninstalling it and then reinstalling it but still no luck. so i then decided it was the graphics card its self that was the problem. the laptop being out of warranty anyway i decided to remove the back to see if the card was fixed i removed several conpoments including my hard drive. i could not see the graphics card as i did not have the right tools to completely remove the back. so i reasembled everything and turned on my laptop only to find.....
Operating system not found and now i have no idea what to doo please help. |

Ok you hard drive is failing my friend, you need to format the hard disk and reinstall and operating system then instal the most up to date current drivers.
If it says no operating system found and the BIOS is stil finding the hard drive then More than lickerly the information on the drive is currupt. If it is nto found then the operating system will not be found as the hard disk is not connected correctly to the motherboard. |

i wouldnt jump to the conclusion that you need to reformat just yet this has happened to me several times and is just due to the hard drive not being inserted properly they can be kind of tricky to put back in and you run the risk of breaking pins just take it apart ensure all pins are ok and if after its been put in still wont boot you may need to reinstall
as for the orginal problem with the graphics chip from what ive read some of the 8400 and 8600 chips are faultly it says you may need to underclock the gpu, flash the system bios etc if you go here it will explain it in more detail as its quite a bit to type out http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/top...-chips-faulty/ |
