Hi All,
My desktop computer has a problem, I have recently been having problems with the OS setup. I have tryed to install windows XP but when it boots up for the second time, when your not meant to press any key to boot from CD it says that the PC has not found any OS system files. I have now tryed install Windows 2000, I have installed the system files and then it is not giving me the option to boot from disc by pressing any key. When BIOS boots up any it says which Primary Master it has found it says NONE. And I have set the jumper to the primary position. I have also gone into Hard Drive Auto Recognition and it says that it has only found 1 hard drive as secondary master. Could this be part of the problem?? i HAVE been trying to fix this PC for a long time now and seem to move no further. PLese help any one?? Many thanks in advance Adam

sounds like bios is having a giggle with you..try re-setting it check your manual on how to do so.noramlly its a jumper on the motherboard or removing the motherboard battery.then i would take out the other harddrive..leave one in set that as master boot from cd and try that..also check power connection on the harddrive.use a different cable (swop the cd drive one with the harddrive on) remember to push any button to boot from cd.do a full format not (quik format) if still no look swop that harddrive for the other one you have. check your windows disk is not scratched or dirty
