I Was wondering if it (when upgrading to win 7) you had to stick with the same versions (eg home, business, ultimate).

I have Vista Home and want to go to 7 Ultimate when it comes out, is this possible?

also, is win 7 split into 32bit and 64bit?

Win 7 is in both 32 and 64 bit versions yeah.

As long as the bit version is the same, you can go between home, pro, broken or ultimate editions as you please

It does indeed mate, sorry.

From 32 bit to 32 bit or 64 bit to 64 bit is fine but 32 to 64 enters a whole world of re-installing and aggro.

Back up your files and format is the only way buddy
