Default Problem installing windows

Hi,

I'm having a problem installing windows.

I have tried installing XP from two different CD's
Vista from a DVD and off an SD card and windows crashes everytime.

When it tries to install XP when it boots into the Windows installation it cannot access D:/i386 saying access is denied.

In Vista it completes the installation, and says that it is configure the desktop where it then reboots, and from then on it never boots windows but instead keeps rebooting.

Does anyone know what's going on?

Is this a legal version of XP and Vista?

I had problems back then with windows 98 that ended up being a virus so maybe you should scan your pc. Just giving you ideas but if it's not that then it could be a bad partition in your HD.

im assuming you dont' have anything on the harddrives your installing to... but whenever i have problems installing windows i usually just format teh HDD's completely.

can't really hurt at that point and it possibly will help
