This is a company PC and Windows XP is legitimate. SP2 is installed. I downloaded SP3 from this site, from external mirror 2 (exe)
 I started extracting the files:  And then get this message, and SP3 is not installed:  Help please!! |

i take it that you have a fully legal copy of XP, and that you don't already have SP3.
to install in SP3 you need to have SP1 already installed, which i guess you already have? im wondering if the download you did wasn't the right version (there may be other versions, not sure), try downloading this ISO image, and burning it to CD, this what ive used plenty of times to upgrade peoples PCs, and ive never had a issue with it. EDIT; just noticed that the external mirror 3 on your first screenshot also seems to be a ISO image, possibly the same as the link ive just posted. id still use my link though, as I can say 100% that it works fine  MCTW |
