Right, this is a long story but i shall try and keep it short

;
I have just built a new pc. This pc should have 2x250gb hdds (one from my old system with all of my files on it and a brand new one which will house my os). After building it i set about installing a copy of the 32bit XP OS, and after setting it up and it having to restart to continue the installation, it gave me the blue screen of death. After this i tried installing a 64bit copy of XP to see whether it was the hard drives fault this happened or if it was the softwares. The odd thing was, the 64bit version installed fine. I then added my old 250gb hdd and everything was fine until all the programs and games etc i installed didnt run or work. I then decided to use an old 80gb hd as the C drive and tried installing the 32bit (which worked this time round). I then added my 250gb hdd again, but could not access it with windows telling me it was corrupt. After running chkdsk and having it solve this problem (and recovering all the files on it) i could then access them. Although, every time i try opening a jpg, bitmap or any other type of picture file, i get "No preview available". Also, the exe files that were on the hdd are not working anymore!
Sorry for the long-winded story! Anyone any ideas? i have many photos form family do's and friends etc which i would be very sad to be without!
