Hi, I recently got my daughter a second-hand Dell PC which runs on Windows XP. It was cleaned up before I installed various software and it all worked well. My issue is that when my daughter tries to connect to the (Belkin) wireless router as a Limited Access user, the wireless doesn't work. If I go in as the administrator or redefine her account as an Administrator status it works fine, until of course I redefine her account again as limited access. How can I correct this? Interestingly if I login into my admin account and connect via the wireless and then login to her account it appears to work until we switch the computer off. I have tried a view things but the problem persists and she is getting frustrated.

I did note that the XP does not list all the users with icons as does my main computer. The login is the more old fashioned prompt. Maybe this has something to do with it. It would be good to change this too is anyone knows.

Hi - I Thanks for that. I don't think that is a windows XP or Belkin Router factor as we haven't had that issue with limited users on other computers. Also I presume it isn't only children who would have Limited Access. I feel it is some setting somewhere (probably a check box) that needs checking or unchecking but I have tried the obvious and it doesn't work.

Hi - Thanks for the help. The limited access is set on the Windows XP. When I set it up as an administrator it woked fine. Problem was when my daughter tried to use it on limited access (set by XP). When I go in or switch her to administrator access, it works fine. All other software on their seems to work OK so my guess was it was something to do with the belkin wireless card and its ability to work on XP limited access.

The problem looks the same and the solution if definitely worth a go. THANKS!!!!
I just have to master installing the driver without the utility - may be bridge too far for a computer novice like me - but I'll give it a go. MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

Thanks MrDaveyK!!! I just fixed the problem, thanks to you.

Actually I couldn't work out how to uninstall the Belkin utility and just load the driver so I left it as it was and just siwtched the control of the connection to Windows and it worked.

For anyone else having this issue I clicked on the Belkin Wireless icon and there was an option in one of the tabs to use Windows to control the Wireless. Only one slight blip in that when I tried to use it is told me that the Windows wasn't configured - however the message helpfully came with the necessary link to go and do this. Really it was just a matter of re-entering the WEP code etc.

Hopefully it will keep working and others have one more entry on how to solve it!
