Hey guys. I want to de-partition my hard drive. I've already deleted the drive D using run:compmgmt.msc. Now I understand that if I install a new OS I can combine the partitions in my hard drive, right? I have done the necessary preparations (saved important files, ect.) and am ready to format and install a new OS. Now here's my problem. Everytime I boot the new OS CD, I never get to reach the setup menu. My laptop crashes everytime before the setup menu.

Is there something wrong with my laptop? Am I infected with a virus? Anyone got a good idea/answer/solution?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks a bunch.

Check the bios settings and make sure the CD Drive is first in your boot drive sequence.
If it is set correctly and the system crashes, whilst booting, there must be an issue with either the Windows Disk or a Hardware fault.
Any error message when it crashes ..... or does it just freeze ?
