Default Product Id? Product Key? Explaining the 2 please

Hi Whilst downloading Everest the system info tool i noticed " PRODUCT ID" and "PRODUCT KEY". does anyone know what these are please.

I'm pretty sure they are your Windows product ID and product key.

thanks for the reply. i think i 've just found out what a product key is, which i think is the plate on my laptop ( licence) which comes when you purchase it. Is that right?

Product ID is not written down, it only pops up on screen when you do telephone activation.
