Default Re Activating Windows Via Circumstance Change?

Hi,
I recently purchased a copy of XP home OEM for a friend as she had a fraudulent copy of XP. However her computer is really old using just 256mb of pc133 ram and is not up to scratch with her demands. She has been given a new computer by myself ( was an old athlon xp but has 1 gig of ddr) and I know personally she cannot reactivate the copy of windows on her new system due to the hardware changes that excludes the key on the Microsoft database. I have read on other sites that all she needs to do is ring up to activate and tell them she is reactivating due to hardware changes but is it really that simple, surely they wont have any of it and she really cannot afford another copy of windows. Any idea’s or personal experiences that people know of were Microsoft will authorise the same copy onto a new system due to change of circumstances?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

She may get away with it, if she says the PC has been fitted with new motherboard, HDD & Ram.

They can only say NO

Yes, it really is that simple. I have called 100's of times and have never been declined.
