today i wanted to start my pc but it isnt booting anymore. it always says "which system you wanna start
- windows recovery console
- normal windows XP"

if launche normal xp it always says this :
"Windows couldnt be started mayb cause of hardwear or softwear changes..."

i can chose between star normal windows XP, or start in safe mode or in last known working system or something like that. i tried all but nothing works it always go to the same site "windows couldnt be started..." maybe you can help me and tell me how to fix cause i couldnt find the booddisk and i dont know what to do if i start the recovery console.

im writing from laptop of a friend cause cant start windows.

uff there are so many commands and me such a pc newby if i enter one and it makes something i dont even know how to interpret it. so is there maybe an other way you can help?

You really need the XP Installation Disk to do anything.
If you can borrow an XP Installation disk and get into Recovery Console, try typing in :

fixboot and hit Enter

and

fixmbr and hit Enter

then type exit and see if the PC boots.
