Default Restart after clicking safe mode and other options

Hello folks,

I have got a problem on my computer, hope you technician can help me with it.

Ok, the problem started when I was playing a game , it suddenly froze and I could not click anything so I pushed the power button to restart my PC, since I turned off the PC incorrectly it appeared many options such as the: Safe Mode, Start my PC with the last good known configuration etc.

I pressed enter on Safe Mode but it froze up, the word "safe mode" still highlighted , after a long wait , around 15 minutes , the screen went black(OMG) and I press enter again it restart .

I tried around 5-8 times already and still like that .

What shall I do?

Yeah I've tried already, waiting 30+ seconds and last good known configuration but still the screen went like frozen but after a long wait the screen went black. Well, it will stay in black screen till I press enter, when I press it , it restart.

Not yet, pm Dave about 'repairing' windows as its not my strong point.
Has there been any power surges lately? because to me this sounds like an hardware fault.
Before thinking about repairing/re-installing windows try unplugging all your cables in and outside of
your computer assuming its a desktop? and leaving it over night. Take notes as to where the cable go. If this fails then could you try your hd in another system? One last thing could you list your system specs?

Ok I will try to ask Dave.

Hmm no power surges.

I tried unplugging everything, yes its a desktop.

I will try my HD in another system(any result I will post it here).

PC Spec: Intel Pentium 4 ,
Window XP Home,
HD 160GB,
512 RAM.

Do you have a Windows disk? Using it to repair is pretty straight forward if you do.
