| Hi ppl I have laptop with XP pre-installed, and have now just installed Vista, the hard drive is split in 2 (C:& D: Drives). XP is on the C: Drive, Vista on the D: Drive. I'm trying to copy files from C: Drive (XP) to D: Drive (Vista), but is keeps saying access denied. Do I have to log on to XP and allow acces of files from each folder individually or is there a way to allow all C: Drive to be accessed. Another problem might be that the username on XP is different to Vista, does anyone think that might be it? Thanks |

| I think you'll need to allow the C drive to be shared, right click and properties or you may have to log on with XP to do it I don't know. Username shouldnt make a difference if anything I think it would not let you have a matching username.. |

| See if taking ownership of the folders helps.
