Default S3sav4 error

hi all.now and then my pc will freeze then everything one go bigger and i will get a s3sav4 error and then told to save all and restart pc.I have up dated the drivers but still the same. any idea anyone.thankyou.

Go here and download s3sav4.dll to your desktop.

Then go to C:\WINDOWS\system32 and find the s3sav4.dll file . Right click on it and rename to s3sav4old.dll .

Next unzip the downloaded fileand copy/paste it into the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder and close.

Reboot the system and with a bit of luck you will lose the problem.

Did you do this before updating the graphics drivers, if so try it again.

In fact try it again anyway

i think i may have made a mistake. when you say before i updated graphics drivers i thought by updateing this s3sav4 dll i was updateing the graphics driver. oooopps.

No problem ..... do you know what Graphics Card you have ? .... is it a seperate card or on board ?

If not sure, go here and download Everest Home, this will tell you which and report back ..... we can then locate your drivers.

This is quite an old card ..... are you running W98 or NT ?

If XP have you had it running in XP before ?
