If you have installed SP2/SP3, you will need to create a new Windows Disk and integrate SP2/SP3.
nLite will do this for you.

Guide here if needed, but it's fairly simple.

Okay, I used nLite to integrate my XP Prof cd with SP2/SP3. Then I wrote it all onto a new CD like you said. I'm guessing the next step is to scan the system files again and when I'm asked to put in the CD I use the new one?

So, I tried doing exactly that... and the scanner rejected the CD, saying that it was not the correct CD. I don't know why that is, I mean I thought that I integrated the SP1 with 2 and 3 just fine with nLite but I guess not. Got any ideas as to whats wrong?

If the CD you integrated was the original CD used to install the System, then what you have done should work fine. If not or the CD is a different version of Windows, it wont work.

The only other thing I can suggest is doing an XP Repair install, using the integrated disk. It may work, or you may hit the same issues, but it's worth a try.

Might be worth backing up any critical data though, just in case

..... failing that, it looks like a fresh install.
