Default Service pack 2

I have just installed Service pack 2 on my mates pc that has windows XP home and the screen is all yellow coloured. I have tried wiggling the VGA cable and that hasn't fixed the problem and I just installed a download from the nvidia website to try and fix ...

could it be that the drivers are faulty or that the vga cable/connection is faulty or that the vga monitor card or whatever's drivers are faulty ?

It was working fine before I installed service pack 2. I just checked the device manager and under "Other Devices" is my video controller

Sounds like a bad monitor cable.
