Default Service pack 2

I have just installed Service pack 2 on my mates pc that has windows XP home and the screen is all yellow coloured. I have tried wiggling the VGA cable and that hasn't fixed the problem and I just installed a download from the nvidia website to try and fix the problem and that hasnt work. Anyone know what the problem is?

could it be that the drivers are faulty or that the vga cable/connection is faulty or that the vga monitor card or whatever's drivers are faulty ?

It was working fine before I installed service pack 2. I just checked the device manager and under "Other Devices" is my video controller

Sounds like a bad monitor cable.
