i has had my xp patched with uxtheme and it is running on vista themes now. The icons look ugly with the ''ticks'' in the bottom left hand of every icon. What is the reason for the ''ticks'' and is there any way to get rid of it?

Its probably some dodgy feature of the theme.
When I was on XP, I had one that worked fine, I'll have a quick look see if I can find it and I'll post back with a link.

yes its vistaVG anyway to get rid of the ugly icons thingy? Or overwrite with other vista themes?

this message appeared after i used uxtheme patcher and NOT flyakiteOSX... so other forums are not able to help me fix it... How do i stop this message from appearing.. Thanks please help. The uxtheme patcher does not come with an uninstall and the theme i am using is VistaVG on xp

the msg is ''DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\SHELL32.dll occupied an address range reservered for Windows system DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contact for a new DLL''
i have tried downloading the microsoft patch of year 2007 but it doesnt work because i am on windows service pack 3 alrdy.How do i cure this problem. I am willing to uninstall uxtheme patcher v6.0 if there is a need but there isnt any uninstall avaiable for download...Applying other vista themes wouldnt work too... |

i dont know. the ugly icons are still there and even if i applied the other themes, the error msg (above) will still appear . i Just want to know if you have any idea of fixing the error msg.

Ok, I think changing the theme will solve the icon problem, I was merely addressing your original problem.
The error message is something different entirely and I would reccommend you start a new thread in the appropriate Forum, headed "Error Message" Or whatever. Also in your new thread post a Hijack This Log, thats almost certainly the first thing you'll be asked for  Ollie.
