I'm having a problem here. I have windows xp pro and did a reinstall over the weekend and I'm useing a program xilisof avi to dvd. The outcome I am going for is to make an iso image from the avi file and what I am getting is a rar file with video & audio ts folders.

Can anyone shed some light into why this is having this outcome?

Thanks in advance,

MPenney

By the sounds of it, you are actually making a ISO file, it is just being interpreted as a RAR file, or some program is allowing you to view the inside of the ISO image.

Have you checked by right clicking on it and selecting Properties? That would tell you if it was actually a RAR or an ISO.

It does say that is an iso, and when extracted it becomes the video'/audio ts folders

What are you going to use to burn the ISO with?

I'm not sure if you know, but an ISO is an image of a DVD or CD. It has to be burnt to a CD or DVD before you can use it.

The easiest way to burn it would be to download ISO Burner from here http://www.ntfs.com/iso-burning.htm

Then you can just point it at the ISO image and put in a DVD, it will do the rest.

Just to clarify, it does not matter that the ISO image is recognised as the wrong type of file. It makes no difference to when you come to burn it.

I use dvd santa (demo) and it wont take the file
i used imgburn (after extracting it) and burned it with the video ts folder.

What would cause it to be converted like that?

You don't want to extract it first. Just give it the original as it comes out of the program in the first place.
