I Put the computer on standby again, and tthe same problem happened when i booted it up, except i got 2 error messages, one was the system error one and the other was on about the "Generic Host Process for Win32". Seems to be gettign worse.

Have you gotten all of the updates from Windows Update?

As far as i know yes, the windows update tray icon hasnt appeared since last week.

Also Auto Update may be just installing "Critical Updates" go to the Microsoft site and check for updated manually.
