I hope this is the correct forum for this question...

A week or so ago in Task Manager, there were too many background applications running. I ended a few processes.
I believe I Ended one I shouldnt've, but I don't know where to begin in finding out what I did. It has effected the graphics and color font on my computer. Things that should show up in my Start menu as subtitles, don't show up well, as if they are badly pixilated. when highlighted, they show up fine... as goes for on in Internet Explorer with my menu buttons..
Any suggestions or guides as to what I may have done?

Thanks!

What OS?

Can you do a System Restore to before you made the changes and then get some advice on doing it the safe way?

Processes ended in task manager do not persist after reboot.

If you've rebooted and have the same problem, it was more than that. If not, go ahead and do that.

Err, I meant that processes ended in taskman that are startup programs persist after reboot but their closing will not unless deleted in msconfig or something. Surely a reboot is much quicker than System Restore?

It is possible i deleted something in msconfig. i was there.
But i have no clue what I did wrong to mess us my fine graphics. Is there any way to find out, or I should just restore back?

Do a restore. That's what it's there for, only takes a few minutes.

Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore.

Well, you might go back into msconfig and see what's unchecked. If anything looks related to your graphics drivers (nVidia stuff typically starts with 'nv', like "nvcpl"), go ahead and check it. Hell, you might even go ahead and check everything (within reason) and see if that fixes it, then narrow it down.

edit: or this ^^^^ :p

Great guys, thanks so much for your help.
I went in the display properties and did VPU recovery. That worked! I had gone back and rechecked everything i unchecked there was still no change. Somehow my system recovery was turned off. So i couldn't easily go back a week or so. But this worked and i'm very happy!

thanks for all your advice!
