Default Taskbar Items Appearing/Disappearing

Hi I don't really know where to post this so I guessed it would be here.

I have windows xp and sometimes when I am on the internet or even just playing games 1 or sometimes 2 taskbars appear and disappear again really quickly so I can't even read what they say. But it is annoying because when I am doing something full screen it swaps to that, which is nothing so I just see the next window underneath it. I have done virus/spyware checks and there is nothing strange in my processes so I don't really know what it could be?

Thanks if anyone can help

Hello. Lets take a closer look.

Download HijackThis Here
Once you have it downloaded install/save it to it's own folder!!! This is important for it to work properly.
For example save in C:\program files\hijackthis
You can then create a shortcut on the desktop.
Once installed open the program and select Do a system scan and save logfile.
**Important DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
Save the log to your desktop.
In the next post click Go Advanced or Post Reply.
Scroll down and click Manage Attachments and add the log as an attachment.

Go to add/remove programs and uninstall the jre1.6.0_01
Then go to www.java.com and get the latest version.
Outdated Java is an entry point for malware.
Also check to see if anything has crept in add/remove that you know shouldn't be there and un-install.

Next:
Click on the processes tab and end process for(if there).
VideoEggPublisher.exe
Close task manager.

Next:
Open HijackThis and select Do a system scan only.
Do not click Fix checked until you have closed all windows including this one.
Place a checkmark next to
O16 - DPF: {AF2E62B6-F9E1-4D4F-A10A-9DC8E6DCBCC0} (VideoEgg ActiveX Loader) - http://update.videoegg.com/Install/W...gPublisher.exe
Close all windows and click Fix checked.
Re-boot your computer. Then post a fresh HijackThis log please.

Let me know how things are now.

I could be mistaken but I think that may be the source of the pop ups.
Did this begin around the time of using videoegg or is it something new?

Thank you for confirming that.

The information on HJT site is in German (?). Can't completely make it out but they do not speak highly on it from what I can tell.
