Hello,
First of all, the problem started after a Windows repair using the Windows XP disk. I'm having some trouble with starting up the Terminal Services service. It is set as Automatic, but does not start-up with Windows. When I try to enable it, it gives this error: "The Terminal Services service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service." Fast User Switching service is Started (and it is also set as Automatic), but the feature doesn't seem to work. If I try to change user on the user-switching screen, the screen just flashes blue (as if switching) and nothing happens. The reason I'd like this fixed is because some programs like MS Word do not work. Word will throw out an error saying: "There is not enough memory or disk space to run Word." I'm aware that this error is caused by what was said above. I noticed that having Terminal Services stopped will also leave you with a blank "User Name" column on Processes of Task Manager. Because of that, I tried playing around with "control userpasswords2" command. I'm not really sure how, but the first time playing around with it (I guess it was just selecting my username) and then restarting, I could see my username under "User Name" column on Task Manager and I could also start programs like Word. I restarted the system a second time and the problem was back. Using "control userpasswords2" did not solve the problem this time. Note: The OS is Windows Media Center version 2002 with SP3. |
