Default Toshinba Satalite Not Booting Vista

Hi all I have a problem with my daughters laptop, a toshiba satalite with vista. When turning on it starts to boot and i get the green icon on the screen, then the screen just goes black. Ive tried the safe boot and last known config boot and still nothing. ...

Hi all

I have a problem with my daughters laptop, a toshiba satalite with vista.

When turning on it starts to boot and i get the green icon on the screen, then the screen just goes black.

Ive tried the safe boot and last known config boot and still nothing.

Any help would be great.

Do you have the Vista install CD? Or did the machine come with a recovery disc/partition?

no, came with pre-loaded and no recovery discs.

Often you need to create your own Recovery Disk, when the machine is new you are prompted to do this.

If you didn't do so, you will probably need to get one from Toshiba, but there is normally a charge for this.
