hi guys im new here i have a poblem trying to load windows on a ide HDD the motherboard is gigabyte ep43-s3l. I know theres nothing wrong with any of the compenents bacsue it works with a sata HDD i just need to change it some how so i can boot windows any help will be much aprecited.

It difficult to understand what you are doing... You have an IDE drive and you want to install Windows XP on it?

Sounds like you need to change the boot order in the BIOS to boot from the IDE hard drive before the Sata hard drive
By "load" Dave, I think he means boot into Windows from his IDE hdd |

How many drives fitted to the PC ?

If just one IDE Drive, is this empty or does it contain XP ? If you are trying to install XP to the IDE Drive, what is your current boot sequence in bios ? Is the XP CD a genuine M$ copy ? My System: Home Build
