Hi all.
I hope you can help me... I had a Vista laptop that I broke. I bouht a new Vista laptop. Old hard drive was not broken so I bought a USB cable to connect old HD as USB external drive what works as I can see it in My Computer (H:) and in Storage Managment. What does not work is that I can't see "Documents and Settings" nor "My Documents" in it...I can see other folders such "Windows" or "programs" but "Documents and Settings" is not listed like it was hidden. I made the following: - changed many times USB cable on different connector - booted many times the new laptop with the old HD connected - used "change ownership" - selected "show hidden files and folders" - used restore programs (Recover files and Recuva) - readed many forums none of the above made me see the folders "Documents and Settings" nor "My Documents" I really don't know what else I could do...if anyone has a solution, please help |

That's because those folders belong to a User on the Operating System of that drive.
Without booting from that drive and logging in, you won't be able to see them - unless you have administrative prvileges, which if they're not there, you don't.
