ok i have a slight old XP laptop, that despite being a bit slow i have had no real troubles with. Until now...
I recently turned it on to get a blue screen telling me i had unmountable boot volume and to uninstall any thing i had recently installed. It tle me to restart again propbably in safe mode. That is what i did and i just got the blue screen again. I have tried it in every possible way i can of starting my laptop and it simply WILL NOT get past the blue screen, i know whati need to uninstall, but is there anyway of geting past the blue screen? thank you |

That sounds like the hard drive may be failing, or there is a loose connection between the drive and the port.

thanks for your help. How would i go about sorting it out? or simply getting on to my laptop (i really cant afford a new one)

well 2 reformate instert the xp disk and make shure in the BIOSs it is set 2 start frome a cd just follow the instructions

If you have the original XP Installation disk, you could try this, before doing a complete reformat :
